Privacy and cookie policy

What data we process

Browsing data. For technical and security reasons, the server of our hosting provider (Aruba S.p.A., servers in Italy) automatically records data such as IP address, date and time of the request and the page visited. This data is kept only for as long as strictly necessary and is not used to profile you.

Data you send us. If you write to us by email (for example to request an assessment), we process the data contained in the message and any attachments solely to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a quotation.

Purchases in the shop. If you purchase at www.synhexis.com/shop, we process the data relating to your order and to the company contact: company name, first name and surname, billing and delivery addresses, email, telephone, VAT number, tax code, SDI code or certified email (PEC), products purchased and payment status. If you create an account, we also store your login credentials (the password is stored encrypted).

Purposes and legal basis

Responding to enquiries and handling pre-contractual negotiations (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); fulfilling orders, delivering products and handling warranty and support (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); issuing electronic invoices and keeping accounts (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); ensuring the operation and security of the website and preventing payment fraud (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention

Emails are kept for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry and any resulting business relationship. Order data and invoices are kept for 10 years, as required by Italian civil and tax law (Art. 2220 of the Italian Civil Code). Your shop account remains active until you ask for it to be deleted.

Recipients

Data is neither sold nor disclosed. It may be received, only to the extent necessary, by: our hosting and email provider (Aruba S.p.A., Italy); the payment service providers you choose at checkout, which process card or account data directly (PayPal Europe S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A.; Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. via the WooPayments service by Automattic): we neither see nor store card numbers; couriers and carriers for delivery; our accountant and the Italian Revenue Agency's Exchange System (Sistema di Interscambio) for invoicing; our bank for bank transfers. Some payment providers may transfer data outside the EU with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision).

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not use profiling cookies or analytics tools. We only store your light or dark theme preference in your browser (localStorage): this is technical data and is not sent to us or to third parties.

Google Maps. The satellite map is loaded only if you click "Satellite view". At that point your browser connects to Google, which may process data such as your IP address and set cookies in accordance with its own privacy policy. Without the click, no connection is made.

Fonts are hosted on our own server: no external services are contacted.

Chat. The website chat is loaded only if you click the "Chat with us" button: no connection is made before the click. The service is provided by tawk.to inc. (United States), which processes on our behalf the messages and data you choose to enter (for example name and email) as well as technical data such as your IP address, and sets technical cookies necessary for the conversation to work, in accordance with its own privacy policy. We use this data solely to respond to your enquiry; the transfer to the United States takes place with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses).

Shop. The shop uses only technical cookies necessary for it to function: basket and session (woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_*), account login (wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_*) and protection against login attempts. At the time of payment by card or PayPal, the respective providers may use technical cookies for security and fraud prevention. These cookies do not require consent, which is why we do not display a banner. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Your rights

You may at any time request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of or objection to processing, and data portability, by writing to our email address. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
