From design to machine
Every printer starts in our CAD and is assembled and tested in-house. Left: the 3D design of a print bar. Right: a print bar we built, mounted on a conveyor line.

You choose how far we go:
- Design only: feasibility study and detailed design.
- Prototype: print trials with your fluid on your substrate, before you invest in the machine.
- Turnkey machine: built, tested and CE marked.
Looking for a ready-made solution? See our modular print bar, from 100 to 400 mm.
When a bespoke printer is needed
Off-the-shelf printers work well as long as the substrate is flat, the format is standard and the fluid is a graphic ink. When that is not the case, you need a machine built around the process:
- Print bars for varnishes and functional fluids, not just inks.
- UV lines with cold foil application, for metallic effects without hot stamping.
- In-line integration: the print bar is mounted on your existing line.
- Robotic 3D inkjet printers: robotic arms that deposit composite ink layer by layer to build 3D shapes, including structural or tribological parts.
- Part-by-part personalisation and numbering, with no plates or clichés.
Robotic 3D inkjet printers
With our robotic arms we do inkjet additive manufacturing: the inkjet printhead, mounted on the robot, deposits composite inks layer by layer and builds the 3D shape straight from the CAD model. The robot brings freedom of movement and large working volumes; the inkjet head brings precision and droplet control.
- Structural parts: 3D shapes in composite material, with engineered mechanical properties.
- Tribological surfaces: wear-resistant or low-friction layers, deposited only where needed.
- Free-form and large parts, including features built directly onto an existing part.
Seiko printheads and Meteor electronics
We work with Seiko Instruments printheads and Meteor Inkjet drive electronics, a proven combination in industrial printing. SynHexis is an official Meteor Inkjet system integrator. We select the printhead, waveform and fluid management to suit the speed, resolution and characteristics of the ink or varnish.
The complete system, not just the printhead
- Substrate handling and alignment mechanics.
- Ink circuit: tanks, recirculation, negative pressure, filtration and degassing.
- UV curing or drying.
- Printhead cleaning and maintenance.
- Print software, job management and line integration.
- Machine documentation and CE marking.
Frequently asked questions
Do you build bespoke inkjet printers?
Yes. We design and build industrial inkjet printers and print bars for integration into your line: mechanics, electronics, ink management, drying or UV curing, and software.
Which printheads do you use?
We work with Seiko Instruments printheads and Meteor Inkjet drive electronics, selected according to resolution, speed and fluid type.
Can you print varnishes and functional fluids?
Yes. We build print bars for varnishes and functional fluids, not just graphic inks, as well as UV lines with cold foil application.
Do you build robotic 3D inkjet printers?
Yes. Our robotic arms with inkjet printheads deposit composite ink layer by layer to build 3D shapes, including structural parts and wear-resistant tribological surfaces.
Can you upgrade an existing printing line?
Yes. We can integrate a digital print bar into an existing line, for example to personalise or number parts.
